Check in to Netherlands vs Costa Rica

Real Madrid are seemingly very keen to spend this summer and have their sights firmly set on three talents who have been in fine form at the World Cup finals.

Spanish source AS claim that the Bernabeu side are readying moves for Costa Rica keeper Keylor Navas, German midfielder Toni Kroos and Colombian attacker James Rodriguez.

Interest in 27 year old Levante custodian Navas will leave current first choice starter Diego Lopez, and his back-up Iker Casillas, worrying for their futures in the Spanish capital.

Navas has been a hugely crucial part of Costa Rica’s run to the World Cup quarter-finals, his performance against Greece being a highlight, and would no doubt jump at the chance of a move to the Spanish giants.

Kroos has long been a Man United target but a move to Real Madrid could prove more tempting, not least as Carlo Ancelotti’s side can offer Champions League action, though one imagines that the La Liga side may have to offload one or two midfielders to help make room for the 24 year old.

The Allianz Arena star has been locked in contract talks for months, his demand for parity with the likes of Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben apparently falling on deaf ears, and if Real Madrid are willing to offer the midfield schemer a big pay-hike then one imagines a deal may edge closer.

Though these two talents would be very handy additions undoubtedly the pick of the trio Real Madrid would like to snare this summer comes in the form of Colombian attacker James Rodriguez.

The 22 year old has been in fine form in Brazil, leading the race for the Golden Boot having scored five goals in four matches, and may feel his ambitions can be more easily reached at Real Madrid then at big spending Ligue 1 side AS Monaco.

Rodriguez finished as the top assist maker in the French top tier last term and the creative talent would be an excellent addition to Ancelotti’s squad though one does wonder just how the Italian would manage to play the former FC Porto man in the same starting XI as Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, assuming that none of the trio would be playing a central striking role.
