Chelsea’s proposed £19m move for Atletico Madrid’s Brazilian left-back Filipe Luis may have hit the rocks, after it emerged today that the player himself may have to fund some of the deal with the Blues apparently unwilling to shell out the large sum.
If a deal isn’t reached, here’s five alternative left-back options they could take a look at instead.
5) Alberto Moreno – Sevilla
The 21-year-old Spanish international was a big target for Liverpool earlier in the summer, but talks broke down after the Reds refused to meet Sevilla’s £18m valuation for the talented young star. The money is steep, but to be a full Spanish international at such a young age proves that Moreno has the potential to develop into one of the best in the business.
