Liverpool Confirm Signing Of Emre Can From Bayer Leverkusen

Liverpool have announced that they have completed the signing of Emre Can from Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

The 20 year-old is a versatile midfielder capable of playing both a holding role and even at left back, and his positional discipline and passing range has seen him earmarked for greatness.

Can is a leader too, having captained Germany at various youth levels, and will thrive training and playing alongside England skipper and fellow anchor player Steven Gerrard at Anfield.

“I am proud to be a part of the family and I am looking forward to playing here,” said Can in a statement on the official Liverpool website.

“I will give it my best.

“LFC is a great club and the fans are amongst the best in the world.

“I am looking forward to the first game and can’t wait to step on the pitch for the first time at Anfield.”

Can made 29 appearances in the Bundesliga last term, and has experience of UEFA Champions League football too having played in Europe’s premier club competition for Bayer Leverkusen throughout the last campaign.

The youngster is believed to have been acquired for around £10 million.
