The 22-year-old has been one of the World Cup’s star attractions so far, bagging five goals in four games ahead of a highly anticipated quarter final clash with hosts Brazil on Friday night.

His performances have attracted a lot of attention from clubs across Europe, despite current side Monaco not wanting to sell the eye-catching youngster.

However, with Manchester United and Tottenham said to be keen on making a move for him, he has sought to distance himself from the rumours by claiming that he does not want to move to the Premier League just yet and has instead has a move to Real Madrid firmly in his sights.

“I’ve said in the past that I’d like to play in Spain one day, because it is a league that is good technically, and where you get a lot of touches on the ball, which is my style,” said Rodriguez, speaking at an Adidas event in Brazil.

“The Premier League is maybe a bit physical at this stage. But I am a Monaco player and I’m not thinking about anything like that at the moment. I am now just concentrating on Brazil, which is going to be a wonderful experience for us.”
