Diminutive French midfielder given the tallest mascot for game against Germany.
Whoever pairs the mascots with the players had an amusing afternoon yesterday when France played Germany in their 2014 FIFA World Cup quarter final, pairing 5’6″ French midfielder Mathieu Valbuena with the tallest possible mascot.
As the rest of the players towered over their child companions, little Valbuena could barely see over the top of his to sing the national anthem.
Whoever picked the mascots obviously likes a laugh! pic.twitter.com/BFf99QO21H
