The Red Devils have been consistently linked with a move for the Juve star recently after new United manager Louis Van Gaal admitted that he is a fan of the player and even tried to sign the midfield string puller whilst in charge of Bayern Munich.

The Dutchman said: “I always wanted to buy Vidal when he was at Bayer Leverkusen but he went to Juventus.”

Reports in Italy have recently suggested that the Premier League side were putting together a £30m move with rumours that Juve would likely accept it.

But now there are claims that the Serie A side will only accept a cash fee of £45m and Portuguese winger Nani in order to let him go to England.

Nani, 27, has become a peripheral figure at Old Trafford in recent years, and is open to a move away from Old Trafford to secure first-team football.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea are also said to be keen on Vidal, but are reluctant to meet Juve’s valuation and will attempt to negotiate a lower fee for the player.
