United keen on South American midfield duo.

Check in to Argentina vs Belgium

Manchester United have reportedly made an enquiry over the availability of Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal and Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado, according to the Daily Mail.

The two South American stars have been among the most impressive performers at this summer’s World Cup, with Vidal a stand-out performer for Chile until their unlucky elimination in the last 16, while Cuadrado helped Colombia reach the quarter-finals of the competition.

Both players have been linked with a host of big-name clubs this summer after impressing in Serie A and now on the world stage, but United appear to be stepping up their efforts to bring the pair to Old Trafford for next season.

Although new manager Louis van Gaal has already brought in Ander Herrera in central midfield, he remains a long-time admirer of Vidal, who was recently linked with a £44m move to rivals Arsenal.

New signings on the flanks are also a priority, and Cuadrado could be an excellent addition after he contributed 15 goals and eight assists for Fiorentina in 2013/14, and he may be available for £27m, according to various reports.

United are also looking at another World Cup star in the form of Netherlands right-back Daryl Janmaat, who has also been linked with Newcastle United.
