Upton Park side chase World Cup hit-man.
West Ham are lining up a £12m bid for Ecuador forward Enner Valencia according to the Daily Star.
The 25 year old is currently enjoying a great spell in Mexico with Pachuca, netting 18 goals in 23 appearances, and followed up that run of form by scoring all three of Ecuador’s World Cup goals and could well be tempted by a move to the Premier League.
Sam Allardyce’s side struggled for goals last term with the club’s record signing Andy Carroll scoring just twice all season so a move for a fresh striking option makes a great deal of sense.
The east London side managed just 40 Premier League goals last season and Allardyce will hope that the club’s owners trust the under-fire boss with a sizable transfer fund boost to help strengthen a squad that looked fairly light on effective attacking options last term.
