The Gunners signed Campbell in August 2011 but is yet to play a single competitive game for the Emirates Stadium outfit due initially to work permit issues but more recently due to being sent out on various temporary deals.

The 22 year old first spent time at Ligue 1 side Lorient before moving to Spanish side Real Betis before making a real impact last term at Olympiakos, who he helped to a Greek title as well as impressing during the Athens side’s Champions League run.

Campbell played a key role in Costa Rica’s impressive run to the World Cup quarter-finals and many had thought he would be ushered into Arsene Wenger’s first team set-up but that may not prove the case.

Everton relied upon a raft of loaned in talents last term with Romelu Lukaku and Gareth Barry playing their part the club’s big, ultimately unsuccessful, push for a top four finish.

Toffees boss Roberto Martinez looks like he wants to repeat the trick in 2014/15 and is one of a host of sides looking to bring in Campbell next term.

Newcastle and Southampton are also said to be interested.
