Manchester United transfer target Memphis Depay could be on his way to Italy, with Inter Milan the latest club to register their interest in the Dutch World Cup star.

The 20-year-old PSV Eindhoven winger, who scored for the Netherlands against both Australia and Chile at this summer’s World Cup, has been linked with United for several weeks, but is now being a tipped for a move to the San Siro, according to reports in Italy.

Depay broke into the PSV first team during the 2011-12 season, and has since scored 22 goals in 84 appearances for the Dutch side, 14 of which came last season.

His form saw him break into the Dutch national team in 2013, and he now has nine caps for his country. He has been one of the shining stars of Louis van Gaal’s World Cup campaign, and the incoming Manchester United manager is keen to take his young star with him to Old Trafford.

However, with United also linked with the likes of Angel Di Maria and Juan Cuadrado, Van Gaal could be tempted into swooping for a more experienced wide man, as he looks to guide the club back into Champions League football at the first attempt.

United have already signed Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera and Southampton full-back Luke Shaw this summer, and are eager to make more additions in the near future.
