Liverpool could be about to join the chase for in-demand Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado this summer, according to the Surrey Mirror.

The Reds are likely to be in the market for a number of new attacking players this summer as star striker Luis Suarez closes in on a £75.5m transfer to Barcelona, and Cuadrado has now emerged as one of Brendan Rodgers’ top targets.

Liverpool had been hoping to sign Chilean wide-man Alexis Sanchez as part of a deal for Suarez, but with the 25-year-old instead likely to move to Arsenal, they have switched their focus to another South American star.

Cuadrado could be the next to come in at Anfield in a new-look attacking lineup for the Merseyside giants, who will be hoping to attract big names in an attempt to improve on their narrow miss in the Premier League title race in 2013/14.

The Colombian winger was in fine form for La Viola this season, contributing 15 goals and eight assists to his side’s cause, and he also shone for his country as they reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup.

The likes of Arsenal, Barcelona and Juventus had previously been considered the main contenders to sign him this summer, but Liverpool could now be the favourites.
