Chelsea are reportedly on alert with Man City star Yaya Toure readying moves to leave his Etihad Stadium side this summer.

The Daily Express claim that the Ivory Coast international has ‘no intention’ of remaining at Man City and is open to a move to Stamford Bridge and could well be seen by Jose Mourinho as a viable signing.

The 31 year old midfield powerhouse is seemingly set on leaving Man City after the club’s behaviour towards him, firstly in relation to failing to acknowledge his birthday and then, more importantly, denying him an opportunity to spend time with his dying brother Ibrahim.

The talented Man City star is also strongly linked with interest from Ligue 1 side PSG but could be persuaded by Mourinho to make the move to west London where he could well form part of a new-look midfield alongside Cesc Fabregas, who moved to Chelsea from Barcelona earlier this summer.

Such a capture would be a massive statement of intent from the Stamford Bridge outfit and if Yaya Toure is as upset with Man City as this report suggests then he may well seek to cause as much grief for the Premier League title holders as possible and clearly a move to a direct rival would do just that.

Despite being in the latter stages of his illustrious career Toure is arguably in the best form of his career having racked up an astonishing 20 Premier League goals last season.

Toure has won a host of honours since moving to Man City back in the summer of 2010 and prior to his spell in the English top tier the rangy midfielder enjoyed three seasons at Barcelona and has also won domestic honours whilst in Greece and may feel that the time is right for a fresh challenge.

Yaya Toure may well wish to discuss the merits of a move to Chelsea with fellow countryman, and Blues legend, Didier Drogba.

Having sold David Luiz to PSG Chelsea could well be in the running for a strong midfield presence though one wonders whether Man City would sanction a sale to the Premier League side.
