Liverpool transfer target Divock Origi has made some surprising remarks on Belgian TV tonight, revealing that there is more than one club vying for his signature.

The 19-year-old striker, who currently plays for French side Lille, was one of the breakout stars of this summer’s World Cup, earning selection ahead of Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku and netting the winner in his team’s 1-0 win against Russia.

In a chat with TV Limberg, Origi explained that he has a number of offers on the table: “I’m still thinking to make a choice,” he said.

“I’ve got offers from all over Europe. In 1 or 2 weeks we’ll know more.”

Liverpool were believed to be close to sealing a double-swoop for £10 m rated Origi and Benfica’s Serbian winger Lazar Markovic as they look to reinvest the money that will be made by selling Luis Suarez to Barcelona.

A deal was thought to have been agreed in principal, with Origi to be loaned back to Lille for the duration of next season.

However, Origi’s comments have given fresh hope to rival suitors, including Tottenham, who have been linked with the striker by the Daily Mirror.

Origi is one of the brightest young talents in Europe, having impressed for both club and country in the last 12 months. He scored five goals in 12 Ligue 1 starts last season, while his speed and strength make him a talented all-round player.
