Barca’s Deulofeu has some scathing words for his team’s rivals.
FC Barcelona youngster Gerard Deulofeu has revealed that he would rather play for Stoke City than Real Madrid, such is his contempt for Los Blancos.
The forward impressed whilst on-loan at Everton last season and has been brought into the first team at the Nou Camp this summer as a result of his performances in England.
Yet it is a fellow Premier League side that Deulofeu has chosen to describe just how much he detests Madrid.
Upon being asked if he would rather play in Madrid or in the Premier League Stoke City the reply from the 20-year-old, as quoted Mundo Deportivo, was; “For Stoke City.”
Deulofeu made 29 appearances for the Toffees in all competitions in 2013/14, scoring four goals and providing four assists and manager Roberto Martinez was greatly credited with the starlet’s progression.
The attacker will now join the ranks of impressive talent that has come through the youth system in Catalonia to play for Barca, with Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta the pick of the current crop.
