There was some significance as the trophy changes hands.
It was a tough night for Brazil on Tuesday as in the World Cup they were hosting they were humiliated in the semi-finals as Germany beat them 7-1.
Pictures after the match showed distraught fans of the South American nation, as their beloved team capitulated to the worst defeat in their generally illustrious history.
However, there was one touching moment as a Brazilian supporter, initially pictured looking extremely upset and clutching his replica World Cup trophy, handed the prize to a German fan inside the stadium.
