City insist that they will not sell 31-year old.
Manchester City will not sell their star midfielder Yaya Toure at any cost, reports the Daily Mirror.
The Ivorian international, who has been a linchpin in the Citizens’ line up over the last few years, has been unhappy with the treatment he is getting from the cash-rich club’s hierarchy and does not want to continue playing for the English champions any more.
Toure first criticised Man City’s management for ignoring his recent birthday and then accused them of committing a more serious blemish by not allowing him to spend time with his terminally ill brother Ibrahim Toure, who passed away recently.
“He has accumulated too many grudges against [Manchester City’s] leaders and he will not stay with them. He will do everything to ensure his departure this summer,” an international teammate said.
Manchester City meanwhile, are reportedly determined to keep the former Barcelona ace at the Etihad Stadium, but it remains to be seen how they revive the situation with Toure, whose exit will leave a big hole in their midfield.
