Tottenham are readying moves to hijack Liverpool’s attempts to sign Belgian youngster Divock Origi according to the Daily Express.

The Anfield side are said to have agreed a £9.8m deal to sign the teenage attacker and have reached an agreement on personal terms with the Lille man but White Hart Lane boss Mauricio Pochettino may well feel he can tempt Origi into moving to north London over a potential Merseyside switch.

Spurs officials will meet Origi’s representatives today as Pochettino seeks to improve his options in the final third.

Origi can play in a wide attacking role or as an orthodox striker and had something of a standout campaign in Ligue 1 last season before forcing his way into Marc Wilmots 2014 World Cup finals squad.

Pochettino will no doubt be considering the futures of big money signings Erik Lamela and Roberto Soldado, who arrived last summer and managed just six Premier League goals between them in 2013/14, four of which were from the spot.

Divock made 35 appearances in all competitions last term, helping his side secure a Champions League berth, he also registered the winner for Belgium in their World Cup group stage win over Russia.
