Pique’s summer of early exits continues in Las Vegas.

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique failed to progress beyond the group stage of the 2014 FIFA World Cup with Spain in June.

His summer of early exits continued earlier this week as he was eliminated from the World Series Of Poker main event during day two.

Pique was one of 6,598 entrants in the $10,000 buy-in tournament, which has a prize pool of $62,820,200 and a first prize of $10m.

He was doing pretty well, but he came unstuck after flopping a set of fives.

Michael Aron, who had pocket fives, made a six-high straight on the turn, when Pique pushed all-in and was called.

In the video below, Aron tells Caitlyn Howe that he is a “huge soccer fan” and that getting the bust on Pique was awesome.
