United step up Vidal interest.Manchester United are stepping up their efforts to sign £50m-rated Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal this summer, according to the Daily Star.
The Red Devils are determined to land the Chilean star in this year’s transfer market, with new manager Louis van Gaal set to enjoy funds of around £200m to spend before the start of the season.
Although £60m has already been spent on a new midfielder in Ander Herrera, as well as left-back Luke Shaw, United will have plenty more to spend and have reportedly opened talks with Juventus over a deal for Vidal.
The Italian giants are understandably keen not to sell one of their best players, but may be ready to listen to offers in the region of £50m, as they are also hoping to raise funds to make some big-name purchases of their own, including Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria.
Vidal would no doubt be an excellent signing in midfield for United, and they now appear to be in the driving seat to land him this summer, ahead of other interested clubs such as Arsenal.
Two midfielders had been a priority for the Old Trafford club, with another main target in Toni Kroos looking like slipping away as he closes in on a move to Real Madrid.
