Tottenham Among Dozen Clubs Chasing £10.5m Manchester City Midfielder

Newcastle, Sunderland, West Ham and Inter Milan also keen on former England man.

Manchester City midfielder Jack Rodwell only made five Premier League appearances last season.

The 23-year-old, who has three years left to run on his current contract, appears to be surplus to requirements at the Etihad Stadium.

Despite Rodwell’s lack of recent game time, 12 clubs are interested in signing the three-time England international for £10.5m, according to The Sun.

Newcastle United, Sunderland, Stoke City, Southampton, West Ham United, Tottenham Hotspur, Swansea City, West Bromwich Albion, Inter Milan, Valencia and Villarreal are all said to be keen.

Everton, who sold Rodwell to City for £13.2m in August 2012, are also considering a move for the player.

The Sun suggest that a return to Everton could appeal to the Southport-born man, while he may also fancy a move to West Brom, who are managed by former Toffees coach Alan Irvine.

Rodwell has made just 25 first-team appearances in all competitions, including only 10 starts, since joining City two years ago.

Despite being used infrequently during his time with City, Rodwell has picked up winner’s medals in the Premier League and the League Cup.

Rodwell is apparently determined to become a first-team regular at his next club.
