St James’ Park side ready to spend.
Newcastle United are reportedly closing in on a trio of interesting signings according to the Chronicle, deals that would set back owner Mike Ashley around £20m.
Exciting Montpellier attacker Remy Cabella is apparently set to sign a six year Magpies contract, having been a very long term St James’ Park target, the 24 year old perhaps being an ideal replacement for Yohan Cabaye who of course left Newcastle United for PSG in January.
Impressive Feyenoord right-back Daryl Janmaat and AS Monaco striker Emmanuel Riviere could also become Newcastle players before Alan Pardew’s squad travel to New Zealand at the end of next week.
Montpellier boss Rolland Courbis has pretty much confirmed Cabella is on the way to the Prmeier League side, stating;
“It is 90% there, not yet 100%. It is not yet complete, but certainly on the way to getting there. Talks are ongoing, especially regarding bonus payments.”
Cabella would become the fourth signing of the summer following deals to bring in Sunderland midfielder Jack Colback on a free transfer, Tenerife striker Ayoze Perez and most recently Ajax skipper Siem de Jong.
Feyenoord rejected an initial £4.7m bid for Daryl Janmaat but an improved offer is likely and the full-back is said to be keen on the move.
Newcastle United are also said to be closing in on a £7m deal to sign AS Monaco forward Emmanuel Riviere, who could be seen as the man to replace Loic Remy, who impressed during his loan spell at the club last term.
