Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is readying moves to bring in his first signings as White Hart Lane boss with his north London side in advanced talks to bring in a trio of summer additions.

CaughtOffside understands that whilst the Argentine may struggle to win the race to capture French battler Morgan Schneiderlin he is closing in on another pair of his former Southampton charges.

Pochettino is ready to table a £34m bid to bring in England international forward Jay Rodriguez and rock solid centre-back Dejan Lovren.

The south-coast side have struggled to prevent a St Mary’s exodus with Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Luke Shaw all leaving for pastures new, leaving new boss Ronald Koeman looking to invest his transfer funds wisely.

Tottenham could well do with fresh attacking options given the failures of last term and Pochettino values 24 year old Rodriguez highly and feels the former Burnley man is the ideal man to lead his Spurs strike-force.

Rodriguez netted 15 Premier League goals last term and a knee injury in April was perhaps the only obstacle to his securing a spot in Roy Hodgson’s 2014 World Cup finals squad and a move to Tottenham will surely tempt the Saints marksman.

Though Pochettino is ready to offer youngster Erik Lamela the chance to impress after a poor debut season at Tottenham it is likely the new boss will look to offload Spanish international Roberto Soldado whilst Emmanuel Adebayor, who finished as the club’s top scorer last season, will be asked to take a pay-cut otherwise he too will be sold this summer.

A move for Croatian defender Lovren is designed to solidify Tottenham’s leaky back-line and the former Lyon man, said to be a Liverpool target, is said to be open to a move to reunite with Pochettino.

Mauricio Pochettino will look to sell Micheal Dawson and Younes Kaboul though is hopeful of keeping Jan Vertonghen and sees Romanian Vlad Chiriches as part of his first team plans.

The signing that appears closest to completion comes in the form of Swansea City’s Ben Davies with Tottenham’s offer of £10m said to be one the Liberty Stadium side is considering.

Pochettino feels that the young Welshman is a preferable option to the likes of Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Danny Rose.
