Arsenal will offer potential new signing Sami Khedira a bumper pay packet that will make him the highest paid player in the club’s history according to the Daily Star.

The move could be completed in the coming days with an offer of £20m for the 27 year old German international on the cards.
Arsenal hope to secure the tough tackler for such a fee as Khedira is now into the final year of his current contract and as such could leave the Bernabeu for nothing next summer, something Real Madrid wil be keen to avoid.
New signing Alexis Sanchez was handed a £140k a week deal that is level with the club’s current top earner Mesut Ozil, so it’s a tad surprising that Khedira would be handed a larger sum.
Arsene Wenger has apparently been handed a significant transfer war-chest that is making moves for established stars easier to pull off that in the past and it seems the French manager is keen to push on with efforts to land multiple summer targets.
Khedira may well be seen as a preferable candidate to fill the club’s holding midfield role that currently would be shared out between veteran Spaniard Mikel Arteta and French battler Mathieu Flamini.
