Sevilla want Liverpool’s left-back target Alberto Moreno to stay on at the club, but are also preparing themselves for the eventuality that the 22-year old will move to Anfield, according to reports in TalkSPORT.

Liverpool have made Moreno their No.1 left-back target this summer as their manager Brendan Rodgers is keen to strengthen the position with someone of the calibre of the Spanish international. Moreno has come on leaps and bounds over the last couple of seasons in Sevilla, and is now among the best young defenders in the country.

Speaking about the prospect of the youngster leaving La Liga, Sevilla manager Unai Emery said, “I see him as a Sevillista, and hopefully he will stay at Sevilla. We count on him, I hope to improve Alberto, he took a major leap and we have to work with him to help him to continue to improve. If something comes up during the transfer market we are prepared for any eventuality.”

Liverpool are hoping to tie up a deal with the bright young prospect after reportedly agreeing to match his price tag of £18 million and the fact that they have done some business already this transfer window with Sevilla in allowing Iago Aspas to join the club should only work in their favour.
