Stamford Bridge forward moves to join Istanbul outfit.

Check in to Burnley vs Chelsea

Chelsea striker Demba Ba has signed for Turkish side Besiktas and has confirmed the deal via his personal Twitter account, posing in the club’s shirt at the Vodafone Arena.

The deal is though to have cost the Istanbul based side around £8m according to the Daily Mail and the Senegalese international’s departure from Stamford Bridge is perhaps no huge surprise given his bit-part role at the west London club.

Ba moved to Chelsea in January 2013 and scored a brace on his Blues debut against Southampton in an FA Cup clash but eventually found himself behind Fernando Torres and Samuel Eto’o in the striking pecking order.

Chelsea moved to sign Diego Costa this summer and as such Ba’s position would’ve become even more limited, hence his decision to seek an exit.

Prior to his time in west London Ba enjoyed spells at West Ham and Newcastle United and racked up a total of 43 goals in 96 Premier League appearances, of which 22 were from the bench.
