Everton boss Roberto Martinez is reportedly interested in German international Christoph Kramer according to a report in the Liverpool Echo.

The 23 year old surprisingly started the 2014 World Cup final against Argentina, replacing injured Sami Khedira, but was subbed early on after suffering a strong blow to the head.

The youngster moved to Borussia Monchengladbach on a two season loan deal last summer and impressed sufficiently to force his way into Joachim Low’s thinking and Toffees manager Martinez may feel he could pick up the young talent at a decent price.

Martinez did successfully land Gareth Barry following his loan spell at Goodison Park but at 33 years of age the former England man is clearly not a long term proposition.

Alternatively Kramer may well be brought back to Bayer Leverkusen following his recent success, with the BayArena side having secured a Champions League berth for next term.
