Liverpool will have to shell out more than £8 million for highly rated Swansea City left-back Ben Davies, reports the Metro.

The Reds want to make additions to the left-back position ahead of next season, and have long been tracking the 21-year old, who made a very good impression in the Premier League last season.

The Welsh international has already made 84 appearances for the Swans in just two seasons, and is believed to be rated at much higher than £8 million, which could get Kop boss Brendan Rodgers to turn to another viable option in Chelsea’s Ryan Bertrand.

Bertrand could cost the Reds close to £6 million as he is believed to be expendable at Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool are keen on Davies, who could transform into a fine long term left-back at Anfield, but Swansea are bracing themselves to play hardball in order to keep their starlet.

Liverpool are also said to be in for Sevilla’s highly rated left-back Alberto Moreno, but he would cost them around £18 million pounds.
