Newly promoted side have disagreement over the wages of Ferdinand.
QPR boss Harry Redknapp is keen to sign free agent and former Manchester United centre-back Rio Ferdinand on a one year contract, but the former England international’s wage demands could be the big stumbling block.
The London club are in disagreement with Ferdinand about the proposed wages of the defender, which have threatened to end negotiations, but the Daily Mail reports that Redknapp is believed to be confident of landing the defender by settling the issue soon
Ferdinand feels that he is fit enough to continue playing for at least another season, and Redknapp wants the experienced defender to lead his backline in the Premier league this season.
Redknapp believes that the centre-back’s experience could be vital to the club’s fight to stay up in the Premier League, and thus might be willing to give in to the player’s demands to get him on board.
