The France international had been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League and both Liverpool and Arsenal had been touted as favourites to land his signature.
However, Benzema is set to put an end to the rumours of an exit from the Bernabeu by putting pen to paper on a new deal to stay put until 2019.
The 26-year-old scored 22 goals for Carlo Ancelotti’s side last term and is believed to be a firm favourite of the Italian, who pushed the club into offering hima new contract to ward off interest from elsewhere.
The news comes after it emerged that Monaco striker Radamel Falcao would prefer a move to the Premier League instead, with Manchester City said to be his favoured destination.
Benzema’s new deal will also lead the clubs to look elsewhere as Liverpool still search for a replacement to Luis Suarez while Arsenal are still keen to bolster their attacking options.
