Mother makes shocking admission.
The mother of Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo, Dolores Aveiro, has admitted that she attempted to have an abortion whilst pregnant with her son, according to the Irish Independent.
The revelation came after she published a book entitled ‘Mother Courage’ which was released in Portugal on Friday.
And she has revealed that she took a homemade recipe in a bid to rid herself of the infant after a doctor refused to help her terminate the pregnancy.
“I wanted to abort but the doctor didn’t support my decision,” she admits in the book.
She went on to explain she drank warm ale and “ran till she dropped” without achieving her aim.
Ronaldo himself was absent from the unveiling, but she admitted that her son is well aware of what she tried to do.
“He told me when he found out, ‘Look mum, you wanted to abort and now I’m the one who’s pulling the purse-strings in the house.”
At least he seems to be taking it in good spirits then! She has a point, though, she’s got it pretty sweet now and it is all thanks to her son.
