Argentinian denies have a scheduled flight to Turin to sign for Juve.

New Roma star Juan Iturbe insists that he is looking forward to learning from playing alongside Francesco Totti next season.

The Giallorossi signed the 21-year-old in a deal worth £17.4m after he impressed with Hellas Verona last season by scoring eight goals in 33 games.

While there have been early comparisons to a young Lionel Messi, the Argentinian is undoubtedly a huge talent and he will now look to showcase that ability on the biggest of stages with Roma returning to the Champions League next season.

It has been a busy summer of transfer activity for the capital club with the likes of Ashley Cole and Seydou Keita joining them in the past fortnight, but Iturbe is arguably the most significant purchase so far.

Despite interest from the the likes of AC Milan and Juventus, Iturbe insists that he wasn’t scheduled to fly out to Turin to discuss a deal with the latter, and is now fully focused on a successful campaign with Roma.

“I’m happy to be in this great team. I’m young, but with Totti, De Rossi and Rudi Garcia I will learn many things. The coach told me he wants to see the same things he saw in Verona, then let’s see where I will play,” he told the media at his official presentation, as reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport.

After their second-placed finish last season, Roma will continue to build under Garcia’s watchful eye as they look to take advantage of the managerial change at title-rivals Juventus.

However, despite his advanced years, Totti remains a significant selling point for the club as Iturbe conceded that he was excited about playing alongside the Roma legend.

“Playing alongside Totti is beautiful. I want to learn so much from him,” he added.

The 37-year-old will likely form part of the squad rotation in the upcoming season, with the Giallorossi hoping to be competitive on three fronts.
