Barca and Bayern lead chase for South American winger.

Check in to Arsenal vs Crystal Palace

Barcelona and Bayern Munich appear to be the leading contenders to sign Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado this summer, according to Sport.

The 26-year-old was one of the stand-out performers in Serie A last season, contributing 15 goals and eight assists to his side’s cause, before then impressing for Colombia at the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil.

Premier League clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester United have also been linked with the skillful wide-man in recent months, but it now seems that he will either be heading to La Liga or the Bundesliga as the two giants battle it out for his signature.

With Barca selling Alexis Sanchez to Arsenal this summer, they could do with a new signing in that position, while Bayern have also been linked with a number of new attacking midfield players with the departure of Toni Kroos, while Xherdan Shaqiri has also been linked with a move away on a number of occasions.

There’s no doubt Cuadrado looks ready to make the step up to a bigger club, and could fit in nicely at these two elite sides, who will be among the challengers for the Champions League next season.
