The west London side are ready to break the British transfer record in pursuit of the 21 year old, with the Blues boss ready to take advantage of the departure of Antonio Conte in recent days.

Mourinho has already brought in Cesc Fabregas but is keen to further strengthen his midfield since the departures of David Luiz and Frank Lampard.

Pogba was named as the best young player at the 2014 World Cup finals and has been offered a new improved deal by his Turin employers, hence Mourinho’s keenness to step-up his pursuit of the long term Stamford Bridge target.

Juventus brought in Pogba for a nominal fee after the the former Man United man left Old Trafford on the completion of his contract with the Premier League side, leading to the Italian giants bringing in the rangy midfielder for a compensatory sum, and therefore the chance to make such a huge profit this summer could prove tempting.

Some sources claim that Conte left Juventus due to the club’s willingness to cash-in on top performers, which would of course add weight to the possibility of Pogba leaving for Chelsea.

Pogba played a prominent role in Juventus’s last two Serie A title winning campaigns and is a considered one of the hottest prospects in world football.
