Portuguese club FC Porto have sprung to sign Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro on loan for the upcoming season, according to Inside Futbol.

The 22-year-old has landed at the Estadio do Dragao and put the finishing touches to his move, which will also see Porto have the right to make the deal a permanent one if he impresses.

Real Madrid also initially signed Casemiro on loan from Brazilian side Sao Paolo, and splashed out £6m on his signature after he impressed at the Bernabeu too.

However, he was unable to force his way into the Real Madrid side on a regular basis, making just 12 appearances for the club last term and has since decided to move on in search for more regular first team football.

He nevertheless collected the Champions League and the Copa del Rey last term, appearing seven times in the cup and six times in the Champions League.

He is a product of the esteemed Sao Paolo youth academy, and has steadily made his way up from the Brazilian under-17 side and up to the under-21’s and senior side – for whom he has collected five caps.

At one point Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger was said to be keen on bringing him to North London, but eventually turned his attentions elsewhere.
