The west London side are ready to allow Remy to leave as the offer from Liverpool triggers the 27 year old’s release clause and the former Marseille man has now been given permission to discuss terms with the Merseyside outfit.

Remy enjoyed a successful spell at Newcastle United last season, during which the speedy marksman netted 14 goals in 24 top tier starts, and could prove to be Liverpool’s fifth signing of what has proven to be a very busy summer thus far.

Rodgers has brought in Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Emra Can and Lazar Markovic with Luis Suarez having completed a £75m move to Barcelona.

The Daily Express claim the French international, who was part of Didier Deschamps’ World Cup squad, has already agreed terms on a five year deal.

The deal will see Remy earn £60k a week, which is said to be significantly more than prospective suitors Arsenal were willing to hand the QPR man.

A move to Tottenham was seemingly off the table given that the release clause written into Remy’s QPR contract could only be triggered by club’s who had secured a Champions League berth.
