The major events of Philipp Lahm’s 10-year career with the German national side.
Not one week after lifting the most coveted prize in football, Bayern Munich star Philipp Lahm shocked the world by announcing his retirement from the international game at just 30 years old. Below is a look back at some of the key moments of his decade with the team.
Lahm made his debut in a 2-1 victory over Croatia in 2004.
He then made it into the squad to compete in the European Championships that same year, but couldn’t help Germany from crashing out in the group stages.
Lahm opens the scoring with a spectacular curling effort against Costa Rica in the opening game of the 2006 World Cup held on home soil.
Lifting the World Cup. Finally.
