Tottenham Hotspur are the latest club to be linked with a move to sign former Chelsea striker and free agent Samuel Eto’o, according to Fichajes.net.

The north London outfit are keen to bring in some new signings upfront this summer after some below-par performances from the likes of Roberto Soldado and Emmanuel Adebayor last season, and Eto’o is the latest to emerge as a top target for new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentine, who took over at the club at the end of May after leaving Southampton, is yet to make any signings for Tottenham, but could do good business by snapping up an experienced and proven goalscorer in Eto’o on a free transfer.

The 34-year-old, who has also previously played for Barcelona and Inter Milan, scored 12 times for Chelsea last season, showing he can still cut it at the top level, though he failed to win an extension to his one-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

A host of clubs have shown an interest in the three-times Champions League winner, including Arsenal, Everton, Queens Park Rangers and Roma, and it remains to be seen where he will choose to play his football before the start of next season.
