Arsenal’s move for Juventus and Chile midfielder Arturo Vidal could be back on as they prepare a £41.1m bid for the player, according to Fussball.ch.

The Gunners were linked with the in-demand 27-year-old earlier this summer, and have already spent heavily on the £35m signing of his international colleague Alexis Sanchez, who joined the club from Barcelona.

Vidal could be next in Arsene Wenger’s sights as he seeks to strengthen in the midfield department, and his interest in Vidal may be down to the fact that a proposed move for Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira looks like having fallen through.

The German World Cup winner has been unable to agree personal terms with Arsenal, meaning Wenger will now look to sign another player who impressed in Brazil this summer, and who has been tracked by a host of top clubs in recent months.

Manchester United are known to be among his biggest admirers and will be hoping to sign him after missing out to Real Madrid for the signing of Toni Kroos, but Arsenal are prepared to provide fierce competition for his signature by making an improved offer for him to Juventus.

This would be another major blow for the Red Devils as they also look set to see another of their top targets, Angel Di Maria, move from Madrid to Paris Saint-Germain.
