The 22 year old England man has seen Mathieu Debuchy brought in from Newcastle United to replace French veteran Bacary Sagna, therefore in all likelihood limiting the right-back’s involvement in first team action at the Emirates Stadium.

Upton Park boss Sam Allardyce would like to sign the attack minded full-back on a permanent deal but would be open to an initial loan deal.

Newcastle United had also been linked with a move to sign Jenkinson but Alan Pardew successfully snapped up Dutch international Daryl Janmaat and as such no longer need to consider such a move.

Swansea City are also tracking Jenkinson though Arsene Wenger would like to keep hold of the youngster.

Arsenal signed Jenkinson in a £1m deal from Charlton back in June 2011 and the Gunners fan has gone on to make 57 appearances for the north London side, with 14 of those coming from the bench.

Though very much a fan favourite the talented starlet must consider his long term prospects at Arsenal and may well feel his career progression would be better served with a move away from the club.
