Edinson Cavani has remained coy on his future with French champions PSG, claiming that he remains relaxed on where he will be playing his football next season.

Reports in Uruguayan newspaper El Observador, who recently interviewed the 27-year-old, revealed the player’s comments, with Cavani saying: “Football is a sport where confidence is everything. When a club wants you, calls you, they want to make you part of their project, they are looking for you. In those moments, you feel confident. I am relaxed on what those can say about my work. Palermo, Napoli and PSG all gave me this confidence.

“A change of club does not solely depend on the wants of the player, there have to be different movements among clubs. I have a four year contract with Paris. The Premier League or the Bundesliga? I like them a lot but I am not used to constantly changing league. Germany, Spain, Italy and England have the best leagues. But France are progressing.”

The Daily Mirror have revealed reports in Italy which claim that Cavani has become frustrated with playing second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the French capital and is said to be harbouring over a switch to England.

According to Sport Italia, the player is set to reaffirm that stance on Tuesday, although it remains to be seen whether or not this will tempt United into tabling a bid, with PSG wanting close to the €64m they paid for Cavani a year ago.

The striker scored 25 goals in 43 games for PSG last season following his move from Napoli, but often had to play in a wide role, outside of central striker Ibrahimovic, who bagged 41 goals last term.
