Hull City Plan To Take Summer Spending To £22m By Signing Tottenham Full-Back

Tigers chase former England Under-21 star.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce wants to make Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose his fourth major signing of the summer, according to The Mirror.

The Tigers have already brought in winger Thomas Ince from Blackpool, attacker Robert Snodgrass from Norwich City and midfielder Jake Livermore from Spurs for a combined total of around £16m.

Tottenham are close to landing Swansea City and Wales left-back Ben Davies in an £8m move.

The arrival of Davies means that Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino may be willing to dispense of Rose for around £6m.

Rose, who moved to White Hart Lane for £1m from Leeds United seven years ago, has two years left to run on his current contract.

The 24-year-old is likely to be used only as a back-up if he remains at Spurs, while he would almost certainly be a first-team regular at the KC Stadium.

Both Spurs and Hull will compete in the Europa League this season. Tottenham booked their place in the competition by finishing sixth in the Premier League, while Hull qualified by reaching the FA Cup final, where they lost to Arsenal.

Rose started 22 Premier League games last term, scoring one goal and providing two assists.
