Legendary footballer Steven Gerrard has retired from England duty with immediate effect.
The 34-year-old led his side during this summer’s miserable World Cup campaign in Brazil, and after performing poorly, has decided to call it a day after 114 caps.
Despite arguably never reaching the heights he managed to with Liverpool for his country, he will still go down as one of the Three Lions’ greatest ever midfielders.
