Many Liverpool supporters could be forgiven for forgetting about the existence of Sebastian Coates.
However, one female fan in America was delighted when she met the 23-year-old defender earlier this week, capturing the moment with a smiley selfie.
Tall centre-back Coates has not played a senior game for the Reds since May 2013.
He spent the latter part of last season on loan at former club Nacional, where he built up his fitness and subsequently earned a call-up to the World Cup with Uruguay.
Coates got just five minutes of game time at Brazil 2014, replacing Luis Suarez as a late sub in Uruguay’s 2-1 win over England.
Liverpool are currently in the States on a preseason tour.
