England International Sets Ultimatum to Become First Team Regular At Manchester City

Milner ants six months to convince Pellegrini about his value to the side.

Manchester City midfielder James Milner is going into this season with the sole purpose of gaining a regular spot in the English Champions’ line-up, report the Guardian.

The England international has plenty of potential suitors in England, but he is apparently ignoring any transfer opportunities to stay back with the Citizens.

Milner only started 12 Premier League games under Manuel Pellegrini last term, and although the Chilean wants the versatile and industrious midfielder in his squad, he is not among the first choice midfielders in the side.

Milner is desperate to change that situation and will work hard to impress Pellegrini.

The likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and his former club Aston Villa are keen on handing him a more important role in their squads, but it looks as though he wants to stay put at least until January to see if his starting chances can be improved.

He has just one year left to run on his contract with Man City, and he can start speaking to other clubs in January if he fails to cement a place in the City side.
