Premier League Trio Target Signing Of Tottenham Misfit On Season-Long Loan

Spurs midfielder attracting loan interest.Three Premier League sides are reported to be chasing the signing of Tottenham Hotspur backup player Lewis Holtby on a season-long loan, according to the Daily Star.

The clubs in question are newly-promoted pair Queens Park Rangers and Leicester City, as well as Crystal Palace, as the German international looks likely to leave White Hart Lane in the pursuit of regular first-team football.

The 23-year-old, once considered one of Europe’s brightest prospects whilst at previous club Schalke, has struggled to make an impact since signing for Tottenham in January 2013, and spent the second half of last season on loan with Fulham.

Despite his talent, Holtby can’t seem to find a role in this Spurs side, and faces increased competition for places in midfield following last summer’s spending spree, which may now see him leave the club in another temporary move.

Palace look a strong side under Tony Pulis and could prove a wise choice for his next club as he looks to develop his game, while QPR could also be tempting due to their tendency under Harry Redknapp to chase big-name players in their ambitious attempts to establish themselves a solid mid-table side in the English top flight.
