Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers has already signed Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana from the St Mary’s outfit and are set to complete a hat-trick with moves to bring in Croatian centre-back Dejan Lovren at an advanced stage, now it appears the Northern Irish manager wants to bring in a fourth Saints player.

Former Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino will hope to convince the England man to move to White Hart Lane, the Argentine clearly keen to improve his side’s ailing attack.

Rodriguez is currently sidelined with an anterior cruciate ligament injury, which ruled the former Burnley man out of Roy Hodgson’s 2014 World Cup finals squad, but this is clearly not putting off prospective buyers from making their interest in the powerful striker known.

Jay Rodriguez netted 15 Premier League goals last term and is a player Ronald Koeman won’t want to lose, though the Dutch boss has brought in Graziano Pelle from Feyenoord and he occupies a very similar role to the 24 year old.
