United back in the race for La Liga winger.
Manchester United could be the new favourites to sign Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria this summer after a proposed move to Paris Saint-Germain fell through, according to the Sun.
The Argentine international has been strongly linked with an exit from Madrid this summer after the club’s recent signing of Colombian World Cup sensation James Rodriguez from AS Monaco, with PSG previously looking the likeliest to snap him up for around £45m.
However, the club’s need to adhere to Uefa’s Financial Fair Play laws mean they are currently in need of selling players before they can buy more, having already spent as much as £50m on signing David Luiz from Chelsea earlier in the summer.
It has been suggested that the club could look to offload the likes of Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi in a bid to raise funds, but for now they have fallen behind in the race for Di Maria, with United hoping to capitalise.
The Red Devils are known to be keen on signing new attacking players this summer, with Di Maria proving to be one of the most effective in Europe in terms of goals and assists last season.
