The Argentine manager has welcomed in Swansea City duo Ben Davies and Michel Vorm as part of a money plus player exchange deal that saw Icelandic international Gylfi Sigurdsson moving in the opposite direction.

Now it appears five other players could be offloaded as part of a White Hart Lane squad overhaul, such is the expansive nature of Tottenham’s squad that those listed by this source could happily depart without too much of an overall effect on Pochettino’s plans.

Centre-backs Vlad Chiriches and Micheal Dawson are said to be on their way out as is Spanish youngster Iago Falque, who has barely featured since his move to the club from Juventus.

German midfielder Lewis Holtby is set for a move away, with a loan exit perhaps most likely, with Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Leicester City and Queens Park Rangers all said to be keen on the youngster.

Finally left-back Danny Rose is likely to depart following the acquisition of the aforementioned Davies who is likely to therefore be Pochettino’s first choice starter.
