Hyde come up with a novel approach to keeping their trialists under wraps.

Clearly frustrated at having to disguise the names of trialists from fans, to stop other clubs from becoming interested, the official Twitter account of Conference North club Hyde FC decided to disguise their trialists’ names as left-wing revolutionaries for their game against local rivals Altrincham.

This led to a bizarre situation, where right back Josh Brizell was the only member of the Hyde defence not to have been one of left-wing politics’ most important thinkers. They even had big names on the bench, with famous Indian politician Mahatma Ghandi coming on for the second half:
