Paris Saint-Germain are thought to be close to completing the signing of Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria, and could confirm the player in the coming days, according to Fichajes.net.
The mega-rich French club have been in negotiations over the Argentine international for much of this summer, with Financial Fair Play restrictions playing some part in slowing the deal down, and it is not yet clear if he will join on loan or on a permanent transfer.
The arrival of James Rodriguez at the Bernabeu this summer appears to have pushed Di Maria out of the club’s plans, despite his fine performances last season helping the club to a double in the Champions League and Copa del Rey.
Di Maria contributed an impressive 11 goals and 26 assists to Real’s campaign, establishing himself as one of the most effective attacking midfielders in Europe.
Manchester United have also been chasing the World Cup finalist, but look set to miss out on his signature as PSG grow increasingly confident of bringing him to the Parc des Princes, possibly as soon as next week.
United may now turn their attention to Atletico Madrid winger Arda Turan as they eye new signings on the flanks.
